I got out of the truck. I am at the beach! I am super excited.
Where is the water? Is this some cruel joke?
They brought me to a place with a never ending beach but no water! I am so going to chew up someone’s shoes tonight.

I run and run. Up the hill and down the hill. I run and run. Beach everywhere.

Any trip through New Mexico really needs to include a stop at White Sands National Monument. This can be tough since its kind of isolated but it was worth the extra drive for us. We managed to get there right before sunset and has some spectacular views. Granted I only took pictures with my cell phone, but I think some of them came out pretty great.
White Sands was declared a National Monument on January 18th 1933. Its a patch of white gypsum sand covering approximately 275 sq miles. This monument showcases living moving gypsum sand dunes like waves on the horizon.
Cost for entry is $5.00 per person over 16yrs old, free for 15 and under.
