California poppies welcome spring to the desert

It’s March 20, 2017 and today is the first official day of spring. I know it seems like spring just bypassed us here under the heat of the Arizona desert sun, but if you look closely you will see the striking beauty of the desert heading into full bloom. Wild flowers are springing up along trails and roadsides, and the sweet smell of citrus blossoms fills the air.
